The Laundry and Home Care Factory, as the third production facility of Henkel in Turkey, which is a leading company in the world in the field of Laundry and Home Care, was opened on 4th June. Being the second biggest production facility of Henkel in Central and Eastern Europe, the Laundry and Home Care Factory will produce the brands Persil, Tursil, Vernel, Perwoll, Pril, and Dixi, which have been representing the consumer friendly approach of the company for years and have been recognized by the consumers thanks to this aspect, beside their quality.

The Laundry and Home Care Factory, which will provide employment for 250 persons and means of existence for hundreds of people in the first place, will produce more than 200 thousand tones and 63 million consumer units of detergent annually. The newly established factory will work for the realization of the sustainable development in all fields it operates, with Henkel’s principle of protecting the environment, customers, and the health and safety of its employees.

New studies for the achievement of sustainability

Günter Thumser, President of Henkel Central and Eastern Europe, who participated in the opening of the Laundry and Home Care Factory organized on 4th June, Thursday, stated that the new facility was an indicator of Henkel’s environment friendly production approach and its belief and trust in Turkey’s economic development, and said: “Our brands in the Laundry and Home Care segment, of which we are a global leader, are an integral part of the daily lives of consumers in over 140 countries. It was a product from this segment which triggered the success of our company. For we, as Henkel, believe that sustainable business activities will help to increase the value of our company in the long run. We will continue to make effort for sustainable development within our company and in the world. All our 55 thousand employees around the world are responsible for this effort within their capacity.”

Erdem Koçak, Chairperson of the Executive Council of Turkish Henkel, expressed in his speech that they believed the Laundry and Home Care Factory would have an important place for Turkey, and continued: “As Henkel, our contribution to Turkish economy and the manpower we have reached creating about 1,400 employment positions with three factories in total in Turkey, where we started to work in 1963, shows the importance we attach to Turkey, as a rising star not only in Europe but also in the world.”

Selim Dumlu, Supply Chain Director of Türk Henkel Laundry and Home Care, stated that, "Henkel operates actively at heavy duty and special detergents market. The reason of choosing Ankara as the plant location is the logistic advantages derived from being at the center of Turkey and our belief in investing the more rural areas which is out  of İstanbul and Kocaeli to contribute the location. Our plant that uses the final technology also is one of the examples of being respectful to the environment and the public."

Laundry and Home Care products will be produced

Having determined its strategic fields of activity globally as “Laundry and Home Care”, “Cosmetics and Toiletry”, and “Adhesive Technologies”, Henkel will produce its brands in the Laundry and Home Care category at the Hasanoğlan Detergent Factory. Henkel’s brands in the Laundry and House Care segment, of which it is a global leader, are an integral part of the daily lives of consumers in over 140 countries.

Laundry care and home care segments within the Laundry and Home Care unit include powder detergents, softeners, special liquid laundry detergents, dish washing detergents, multi-purpose cleaning products, kitchen, bathroom and toilet cleaning products, and glass cleaning products.
