Brillance History


Initially, Brillance was born as “Poly Color Intensiv-Color-Creme” in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, yet was repositioned in 1992 to become “Brillance”, the fashionable coloration for brilliant and intensive hair colors.

“Colors as everlasting as a diamond” – Brillance’s renowned claim that first appeared in 1998, is supported by the precious shine and strength of a diamond and by fashionable high-class models presenting their radiant and strikingly intensive Brilliance-colored hair on every Brilliance packaging. In its international portfolio Brillance offers a great variety of 62 fashionable shades for a truly seductive color result, whereas each country offers its special Brillance assortment.

Initially launched in Western European countries like Germany, Austria and Switzerland, Brillance had its first roll-out-wave in the beginning of the nineties. Brillance was then also available in Russia and the Eastern European countries. The second big roll-out-wave took place in 1999 by launching Brillance in France, Greece and Spain. Italy followed in early 2000 and Scandinavia in 2003.

With the launch of Brillance in Thailand, China and Latin America in March 2005, the brand managed to break European boundaries and expanded its expertise in intensive and long lasting hair color to the overseas market.

As fashion is the key to the Brillance philosophy, Brillance additionally has been offering the annual Brillance Fashion Collection since September 2002. Every year, Brillance exclusively offers four fashionable shades, inspired by the latest development of fashion trends all over the world.

For those who want the irresistible color intensity of Brilliance without the commitment of a permanent coloration, Brilliance has launched the Toner Creme in Germany in March 2006.

The latest extension of the Brillance product portfolio is Luminance which is the Brilliance solution for intensive and fashionable color results even on dark hair. Luminance has been launched in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Greece, Spain, Russia, Ukraine, Central and Eastern Europe, Italy, since September 2006.
