Social Engagement – Corporate Citizenship
Welcome to Henkel Central Eastern Europe!
Social engagement is firmly anchored in Henkel’s history and corporate values. The company has grouped all its programs in the field of corporate citizenship under the Henkel Smile umbrella. We focus on helping people to help themselves. In Germany, Henkel established the Fritz Henkel Foundation to group the company’s social engagement activities. In 2010, some 730,000 people were helped worldwide through Henkel Smile projects.
Henkel provides global aid to Japan
Henkel follows with great sympathy the events in Japan after the major earthquake and the subsequent tsunami. The company has provided immediate and unbureaucratic help and has initiated donations. Many Henkel employees from all over the world have expressed their sympathy with the victims of this natural catastrophe and their wish to donate money themselves. Henkel is collecting these employee donations and will transfer them to a local relief organization.
We closely monitor the situation and developments in Japan and we are in constant contact with our Japanese colleagues.

Henkel promotes social projects in so-called Social Partnerships, especially in the vicinity of Henkel locations worldwide. The company and its brands provide support by assisting various local sports clubs, choirs and orchestras, hospitals and university faculties, kindergartens, schools and cultural establishments and so on. “We want to be a ‘good citizen’ in the regions where we are located”, emphasizes Sandra Lorch who is responsible for the worldwide management of corporate donations at Henkel. more ...

Through the Henkel Friendship Initiative e.V., the company provides immediate aid around the world to people placed in urgent need by natural catastrophe. more ...
Henkel fosters social projects with donations in kind, e.g. Henkel products or IT equipment, financial donations or paid time off from work for Henkel volunteers.
